My only worry is, the common man doesn't get much from all this. Like for example, for the football world cup, a lot of tickets were available for the public, and the cost wasn't that high. For this cricket world cup, hardly 2000 tickets are available for the common man while the rest went o corporates and sponsors, and such tickets costing around 1500 bucks are being sold in the black market for as high as 50,000 again!Mizohicanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09644240783333879705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9191295.post-56019711253853726222011-03-26T10:00:01.711+05:302011-03-26T10:00:01.711+05:30"judge anybody as unpatriotic just because th..."judge anybody as unpatriotic just because the game of cricket doesn’t appeal to them."

Uh, there are people who do? ಠ_ಠdearleaderhttp://www.lawrkhawm.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9191295.post-83715861074963881722011-03-25T19:08:14.252+05:302011-03-25T19:08:14.252+05:30Kima, I share your views regarding cricket. But this form of mixing nationalism with entertainment is not peculiar to India, it is present hugely in America, especially with regards to American football. Even though they dont play other countries :P

But from an economic perspective, I am happy about the immense popularity of the game in India, especially now that we have some kind of popular domestic league. It generates great economic activity and is something we can perhaps even start exporting (like England does the EPL) one day if things go right.Vikramhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15184698535624088994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9191295.post-70762028073559464262011-03-25T11:43:31.624+05:302011-03-25T11:43:31.624+05:30one more thing, it's a pity that almost all th...one more thing, it's a pity that almost all the football ground in the country are used as a readymade cricket ground...mangbuhrilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08689569291982454576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9191295.post-19498746332737779922011-03-24T23:08:26.093+05:302011-03-24T23:08:26.093+05:30@ U Mazami: Lolz, was watching the match in office...@ U Mazami: Lolz, was watching the match in office, so I know :) Great match indeed!

@ Ajay: haha, I knew this was you, Mr. ThereIsOnly1WorldCup_FIFA.
