Photobucket had recently changed their policy and now all the images from my 650+ blog posts are disabled. I am slowly editing them by moving my images to my own server at AWS, but it will take time. In case there is a particular old post you want to see the images of, kindly drop me a mail at mizohican@gmail.com and I'll keep that at a high priority. Thank you.

Chp 679. Birthday weekend at Lonavala

This was how we rolled :)

Place: Supreme Villas, Lonavala.

Location: 70 km from Pune, around 1:30 hours by car.

Duration: 1 Night, 2 Days (with extension)

Package: Accommodation (3 AC bedrooms) + Swimming pool (we opted out from food because we wanted to do our own cooking).

Occasion : Sanga and John's combined birthday party.

Total cost: INR 14,000/- (shared by Sanga and John).

As my two friends Sanga (blogger: Blackestred) and John (Dr. Love, heart specialist) were born a day apart, they recently threw a combined birthday party. Instead of the usual house party or clubbing, they decided to have a destination birthday party. After going through a couple of resorts at Lonavala, they finally chose "Supreme Villas" as the venue.

That Saturday morning, I was all excited as hell as I headed towards E-17 Aundh, which was our rendezvous point. I had to make a short detour at Wakad to pick up my friend's BBQ Grill. Even though it was an early Saturday morning, I was already starting the party with breezers and shared these photos at our WhatsApp birthday party group.

The others were ready by the time I reached Aundh. We quickly packed all our stuff and then proceeded towards the Villa in three cars. In our car were Gary, Johntea, Sania and me. And boy we had fun inside. The others didn't have the foresight of drinking along the way, so whenever we overtook them on the Expressway, we would "awhfik" them our breezers, and then allowed them to overtake us and repeated "awhfiking" them again :D

Ahhh… so childish :D

Even though it was more than 70 km away from Pune, we reached the location quickly because of the empty Expressway (Saturday morning traffic).

The place was really awesome, and private. They had a small pool at the yard…

Comfy bedrooms. This was the bedroom on the ground floor. Two other bedrooms were on the first floor.

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway was just a few meters away…

Privacy was guaranteed. There was just a hotel in front of our Villa, and other than that, all the other neighboring buildings were either deserted or under construction.

The Khals :) In today's contemporary term, they would probably be called Khal-eesis :D :P

(chuan Mizo nula chhelo ve tak, khal tha deuh, mipa duh duh in an hruai chhuah theih hi Khal-easy a tih theih mai em?) For my non-Mizo readers, ignore this part, I just cracked a corny Mizo GoT joke :D :P

Ehhh, me in my complete H&M attire :P

Soon it was time to jump into the pool!

Yeah, it wasn't that deep…

And then it suddenly started drizzling, so we all ran back inside the Villa from the pool because, you know, we didn't wanna get wet :D :D :D :D :P

Simon was having a great time playing in the rain with the caretaker's adorable son…

While it was raining outside, we prepared some of the food for dinner in advance. As I mentioned in the beginning, the cost of renting this Villa for the weekend was quite cheap since food was excluded. We wanted to cook our own food in proper Mizo style. Otherwise, the package normally comes with lunch, evening snacks, dinner and breakfast, which increased the total cost.

Pork, yummm…

Beef, yummm…

Nice Victorian-esque décor…

Nice Victorian-esque tlangval senior

Once the rain stopped, we all jumped into the pool again :D

Family bonding time :D

The Villa had a great sound system too, so we played the songs we liked as we frolicked around inside the pool… Untz untz untz untz…

Really shouldn't have played the song, "Next thing you know, Shawty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low"

Perhaps one of the most arduous tasks that day was mopping up the floor. We had to continuously mop the floor because it was wet outside…

BBQ Grill time!

Marshmallows!

Big lesson learnt that day - DON'T EVER use a BBQ skewer to roast a marshmallow, lolz. It took us a hell lot of time to wash off the melted candy that got stuck to the skewer. We were such n00bs! Guess there's always a first time, lolz.

Anyway, the marshmallow was just experimental. We were more interested in the beef kebab BBQ…

Johntea played an amazing role that night manning the BBQ and tirelessly making batch after batch of beef cutlets for us. Awesome dude.

The mopping continued…

Pre-cooking the dal and other dishes…

It was almost time to get the party started, so we brought out the hard stuff…

Once we were done with the basic cooking, we all headed back to our respective rooms to shower and change.

Why change? Oh because it was a themed birthday party. The theme was white top. Around an hour later, we all met downstairs again as we started preparing for the birthday party.

Johntea and MKa had a "who can blow up the balloons faster" contest. It was an easy job to do, they just had to blow. Turned out, MKa was better at blow job.

The background props were arranged…

Soon, it was official photo session time.

The two birthday boyz!

We also had a lot of props for the photo session. Kudos to Tuli, Christina and others for spending so much time making these props.

Once we were done with the enjoyable nonsensical photo session, we got ready for the next round, where we picked up random names of each other and had to write a "crime" that the other person had committed. That person had to pose with that rap sheet, kinda like a prison mug shot.

I got Christina :D

Ps. Tihtauh ka hrat lo a nia auh, an uang ve mai mai nih hi :P

Soon it was almost time to bring out the birthday cakes.

Birthday cakes!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANGA AND JOHN!

MKa, the dude with the moves.

After that we all headed back to our rooms to change into our casuals. The night's event was just about to start.

First up - BEER PONG!

We divided ourselves into two teams, with the two birthday boys as captains. If the TT ball fell inside a beer cup, the person whose turn it was to throw the next ball had to bottoms-up the beer.

Our team won! :P

It was just around 2 in the morning, so we shifted the party outside to the pool again. We threw all the blown up balloons inside the pool and jumped inside…

Woohooooo! :)

Haha, crazy shit went down there that night :D

More mopping followed :D

Finally, around 4-5 in the morning, we decided to have dinner. The food was warmed up…

Tired souls…

Chow time!

My plate :)

We all went to sleep soon. Dawn already broke then, lolz.

The following day, I was the first to wake up. It was well past our afternoon check-out time, lolz. I hazily walked outside at our balcony only to find the caretaker's son enjoying by himself at the pool.

Sangsangi licked the leftover birthday cake clean :D

Everybody was so hungover, lolz.

The girls cleaned up the place nice and thorough, even though they didn't have to do that. This is what I really love about our Mizo community!

It was way past our check-out time that we spoke to the Villa owner, who surprisingly allowed us to stay overtime with no extra cost, since there were no other bookings after us. The caretaker later told us he had put in a very good word for us with the owner, especially after we cooked our own food and cleaned up our own mess.

We decided to have late lunch there itself. Some of the guys went to the local Lonavala market to buy veggies and rice. After that, it was cooking time once again.

Finally, lunch at 5 PM.

And then from there, we learnt one very important fact! There were no available cabs to book from Lonavala back to Pune on a Sunday evening! No Ola, no Uber! Zilch. Even my colleagues back at Pune tried to book for me, but to no avail. We could go back by taking the local bus, but we weren't exactly in a condition to do that, and all of us didn't fit in the two cars we had. We finally found one private cab service, but it was for the next morning only. Anyway, the guys who came with cars were too hungover to drive back, and so we all stayed back one more night. No more partying or drinking or dancing by the pool, all of us slept very early that night.

The next morning, our cab arrived at 7, and we were all surprisingly ready to leave.

We made a brief pit stop before entering Pune to have our breakfast…

Finally reached Aundh. I took a pic with Rocky since we were wearing the same clothes that he too bought from H&M.

Afternoon siesta…

I ordered momos for lunch…

After that, I too headed back to KP. All in all, it was an amazing experience. The videos were even more awesome, but I'm not putting any of them up here for now. So, cheers to Sanga and John for a wonderful birthday party.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Hugz.
